SHOCK Chapter 17
by REX-NOVELISTSZhou Wu glanced at Dugou Qingping.
“What’s the reaction when entering the Death Gate?”
Dugou Qingping said expressionlessly, “No reaction. The stone gate closes, making it impossible to advance or retreat.”
“So, we don’t know if the three of them entered the Life Gate or the Death Gate?”
“Exactly.”
The entire underground corridor was as silent as death.
Zhou Wu heard his own rapid heartbeat, the blood in his body roaring like a tide.
Faced with life and death, there was no way to calm down.
Dugou Qingping turned to look at him, the light dim, making it impossible to know if there was any change in his face.
“Am I, afraid?”
“Aren’t you afraid?”
“If I could live a fulfilling life, I would be blessed with longevity.”
Zhou Wu sneered, “Who are you kidding? Who isn’t afraid of death?”
The already frightening scene was brought to a climax by Dugou Qingping’s next sentence.
“If they entered the Death Gate, we should be hearing the sound of banging on the door by now.”
“Why?”
“Because there is no road ahead, they have to retreat, and the stone gate is their only way out.”
Zhou Wu asked in horror, “The fact that there’s no movement now means all three of them chose the Life Gate?”
“That’s right.”
Damn it!
Ten thousand grass mud horses galloped through Zhou Wu’s mind.
The probability of him choosing the Life Gate was getting smaller and smaller, from one in six to one in three.
Dugou Qingping gave him a bright smile, moved his body, and reached out to push open a stone door.
“Wish me luck, and farewell.”
After speaking, he disappeared into the stone door, which quietly bounced back, closing tightly.
Zhou Wu stood there blankly, waiting for more than ten minutes, but he didn’t hear the sound of banging on the door that he was hoping for.
It’s over. Now the choice between life and death has become fifty-fifty.
Half alive, half dead, who the hell said I have good luck?
Zhou Wu carefully observed each of the six stone doors, and even tried to push the stone doors that no one had entered.
Unfortunately, the stone doors had already been opened, and no matter how hard he pushed, they wouldn’t budge. Without tools, relying solely on the human body, it was impossible to open these thick stone doors.
The same identical architecture, even the slightest position, showed no difference.
“Sigh, I should have rushed out first and randomly grabbed a door, let them worry about it themselves.”
This assessment has no answer, and there is no possibility of calculating the result.
Various geometric calculus, physics, chemistry, philosophy, and logical formulas swirled through Zhou Wu’s mind, taking turns on stage.
It’s all useless, this question is unsolvable!
The remaining two stone doors quietly awaited his arrival.
No matter which door he looked at, it was like the mouth of death, eager to devour his pitiful body.
Zhou Wu looked at the numbers on his forehead, 210.
There was plenty of time, but this problem couldn’t be solved with time. Obviously, there was no turning back.
Not to mention whether he could get out, even if he could come back alive, this strange killer organization probably wouldn’t let him die so easily.
Maybe the death would be even more miserable.
The stone door actually made a creaking sound, obviously, opening this door of death was very easy.
Zhou Wu took a deep breath and slowly pushed the stone door open with his finger.
Amidst the creaking sound, the stone door gradually opened, revealing a pitch-black opening.
A gust of cold wind blew against his face, making Zhou Wu shiver.
He tentatively raised his foot and took a step forward, but felt nothing, except for the chilling cold.
There was no way, Zhou Wu took a step into the void, and then wanted to take another step forward.
Just as he raised the leg outside, suddenly, a wave flashed on his forehead, and he couldn’t help but look up.
The original number on his forehead was 210, but when half of his body entered the doorway, the number began to decrease.
In less than three seconds, it dropped to 198, and was still decreasing.
Zhou Wu immediately understood that this was his life force continuously weakening. If he continued to walk inside, the number would probably return to zero before long.
Damn, I really have good luck. I chose a Death Gate on the first try.
Zhou Wu didn’t hesitate and quickly backed out, the stone door slammed shut.
He stood in front of the door, catching his breath, he had been too nervous just now.
Five minutes later, Zhou Wu found that the number on his forehead had not recovered, it should be the price of stepping into the ghost gate.
He changed to another door, which was also the last stone door in this assessment.
Out of caution, Zhou Wu still slowly pushed open the stone door, first stepping in one leg, and then slowly shuffling inside.
He stayed there for more than two minutes, until the number on his forehead showed no change, then he stepped into the doorway.
The stone door behind him closed, leaving Zhou Wu in a pitch-black darkness, the kind where he couldn’t see his fingers.
He stretched out his arms, slowly groping forward, suddenly, his foot went empty.
He walked down nearly a hundred steps before finally reaching a flat ground, he couldn’t see anything, he could only grope forward.
Accompanied by a roaring sound, and the clanging of iron chains, the two green dots quickly floated over.
Zhou Wu’s first reaction was a beast, it was too late to counterattack, he had to roll forward to escape.
Who knew that after rolling once, his body crashed into the wall, dizzy, the two green dots had already rushed in front of him.
Zhou Wu immediately felt a cold and fishy smell coming at him.
He even vaguely saw two long, pale fangs of the beast extending in front of his face.
In shock, his two hands subconsciously covered his head and face, to block the first bite first.
Who knew that with a clang of the iron chain, the two ghostly green dots stopped abruptly half a foot away from Zhou Wu’s cheek.
Only a cold air mixed with the stench sprayed all over Zhou Wu’s face.
Zhou Wu tried to move a little, and the two green lights followed, but could no longer get any closer.
Damn it, it turned out to be a chained beast, scared me.
His eyes adjusted to the darkness, and with the light of the two green dots, Zhou Wu roughly saw the outline of the beast.
It should be a tiger, with a rather large face, always shaking in front of Zhou Wu.
At this time, it made a deafening roar.
Zhou Wu was startled again, and angrily punched the tiger’s face.
Zhou Wu ignored it, and reached out to grope the wall, hoping to find an exit, away from this annoying guy.
He groped the entire wall behind him, but there was nothing.
If he wanted to find other places, they were all places that the beast’s big mouth could reach.
Zhou Wu stood against the wall, looking at the hungry tiger with a depressed face, it was still constantly dragging the iron chain, pouncing on him.
