In the conference room of the Golden Sea Tang Public Security Bureau’s Criminal Investigation Team, a group of investigators were intensely discussing the case.

The discussion revolved around the fact that the police had found records on Lü Yuchan’s phone (recovered from her belongings) of her searching online for information like “Is cyanide the king of poisons?”, “What is the lethal dose of cyanide?”, and “Does cyanide have a strange smell when put in water?”

The browsing history showed that she searched for this information between 0:45 and 1:13 on May 7, 2018, two months before the “7.18” poisoning case in Jincheng.

After the poisoning case, the police, through investigation and analysis, determined that Lü Yuchan was not a suspect. Additionally, her phone was damaged beyond repair by the shockwave of the gas explosion on the day of the incident, making it impossible to turn it on. The investigators never thought to check her phone’s browsing history, so they naturally didn’t think to have it repaired.

After the case discussion meeting in the morning, Wu Shuqi returned to her office, racking her brains about how to break the investigative deadlock in the “7.18” poisoning case and the Zhu Houshi murder case. Wu Zhi responded, got up, and followed Wu Shuqi out.

After driving the car out of the Public Security Bureau gate, Wu Zhi asked, “Wu, are you really just here to visit that child?”

Wu Shuqi smiled mysteriously, “What do you think?”

Half an hour later, Wu Zhi drove the car into Jinxiu Garden. After parking the car, Wu Shuqi and Wu Zhi got out of the car and walked towards a unit building, taking the elevator quickly to the front door of Xiong Zhiyang’s house.

Wu Zhi knocked on the door, but after knocking for a long time, no one opened it.

Suddenly, a boy wearing a moon-white short-sleeved T-shirt, with a delicate appearance but a lonely expression, came out of the elevator. When he found two familiar faces standing at his door, his face changed. He wanted to turn around and leave, but Wu Shuqi quickly stopped him.

This child was Xiong Zhiyang’s son, Xiong Tong.

Xiong Tong hesitated for a moment, but still walked to Wu Shuqi’s side.

Xiong Tong shook his head.

Xiong Tong hesitated for a moment, but still took out the key and silently opened the door, letting Wu Shuqi and Wu Zhi enter the house.
