TFS Chapter 23

Early morning, downstairs at the Qin’s residence. A black van was ready to go, and two men in black suits with proper manners knocked on the Qin’s door.

After Qin’s father opened the door, one of them said, “Uncle Qin, right? I’m Qin Man’s colleague, here to pick you up for the airport. Qin Man has arranged everything with us, and we will make sure to get you both safely on the plane today.”

He nodded woodenly, recalling that his daughter had indeed said so on the phone last night.

At this moment, Qin’s mother also came out. After being persuaded by Qin Man last night, they packed quite a few bags. Qin’s father then stepped aside, “Then we’ll trouble you. We can start bringing the luggage down now.”

Without further ado, the two men started carrying the large and small suitcases downstairs. Qin’s mother looked at them suspiciously, “Dad, why do I still feel uneasy?”

“Our daughter said she’ll have her annual leave next month and fly directly to Thailand to reunite with us. Hurry up and pack up, settle everything at home so that our daughter doesn’t have to worry about it again.” Qin’s father said, shouldering his backpack while carrying the two suitcases Qin’s mother had just packed.

Just before leaving, Qin’s mother ran into a neighbor who lived on the same floor. Seeing their many packages, the neighbor couldn’t help but ask, “What’s going on here?”

Before Qin’s mother could respond, Qin’s father said, “Going on a trip, and visiting our daughter while we’re at it.” After a few brief pleasantries, they brushed past the warm-hearted old neighbor.

Qin’s father reminded Qin’s mother, “We should still be cautious when we’re outside.”

Qin’s mother nodded, “That makes sense.” With that, the old couple got into the car together and headed towards the airport.

Rui Yichen had just received a call from Shen Chen. Facing an important meeting, he was quite annoyed, unless something urgent happened, they wouldn’t bother him. After receiving the call and learning about Qin Man’s pregnancy, he was momentarily lost in thought.

When he was younger, he frequently visited hostess clubs and was very careful about matters of offspring. It wasn’t until after his thirties that he began to consider having children, hoping for an heir. However, whether unintentionally or due to fate, there was no one around him who could conceive.

Rui Yichen held his phone. Shen Chen had already hung up on the other end. He stood by the French window, overlooking the bustling city beneath his feet, but his heart was churning with unprecedented waves, like the clouds in the clear sky.

“Qin Man is pregnant?” he muttered to himself. The bold woman he had punished, he could have disliked her and thrown her away, but he didn’t do so in his heart.

Rui Yichen had to admit that he always had a special feeling for Qin Man. Her purity and tranquility were different from the men around him who pursued fame and fortune. And now, she was carrying their child.

“It seems this is destined.” He slightly raised the corner of his mouth, revealing an imperceptible smile.

Rui Yichen took a deep breath and adjusted his state. He knew that the news of Qin Man’s pregnancy was not a simple piece of good news, but a new beginning. He needed to take this new life that was about to come into the world more seriously, as well as his relationship with Qin Man.

Just as he composed himself and re-entered the meeting room, his phone rang again. He subconsciously glanced at the number; it was Shen Chen again.

“What is it now?”

“President Rui, I just received a call that something happened to Miss Qin’s parents…” Before Shen Chen could finish speaking, the look of joy on Rui Yichen’s face gradually faded.

No matter how big the matter, he would always handle the work at hand first. After giving Shen Chen some instructions, he re-entered the meeting room.

Shen Chen stood in the corridor of the hospital’s emergency room, his heart filled with mixed feelings. He never expected that Qin’s father and Qin’s mother would be at this hospital, and because of a car accident.

He knew very well that if Qin Man knew about this, it would definitely affect her current emotions. Therefore, he immediately transferred two people from the security department to guard the door of Qin Man’s ward to prevent her from suddenly appearing.

Shen Chen constantly calculated in his mind, thinking about how to properly handle this matter without alarming Qin Man.

Just as he was waiting outside the emergency room, the traffic police began to investigate the accident site and take statements from some of the slightly injured.

According to what he knew, this morning, a delivery guy urgently crossed the intersection, running a red light, which caused the black van that did not notice the delivery guy to brake suddenly and collide with a bus turning from another direction. There weren’t many passengers on the bus, and most of them suffered minor injuries. The driver was the most seriously injured and was currently in the emergency room, his life hanging in the balance.

When Qin Man woke up again, it was already noon. She hastily glanced at her phone, calculating what time her parents’ plane would land. When the nurse came in to check on her condition and congratulated her, she was surprised to learn that she was pregnant.

She was a little dazed. According to Rui Yichen’s ideas, he might not let her give birth to this child. Rui Yichen didn’t want to give her any promises or future, so this child…

She thought again of the arguments she had with Rui Yichen these days, and couldn’t help but feel uneasy. Qin Man already deeply understood Rui Yichen’s personality, which was to try to control everything, including her life. But before she could think more, she knew from the sound at the door that Shen Chen was already outside.

Qin Man took a deep breath, trying to calm her emotions. She could only tell herself that the most important thing now was the safety of her parents.

Before long, Rui Yichen walked into the ward. His expression was calm, and even carried a hint of imperceptible tenderness.

“Awake?” Rui Yichen asked.

Qin Man responded softly; she was waiting for Rui Yichen’s next words.

“The doctor said to observe you for one more night and you can be discharged tomorrow.” Rui Yichen said, pulling up a chair by her bed and sitting down.

Qin Man carefully examined his expression, “You know everything?”

Rui Yichen smiled slightly, and took Qin Man’s hand, “Take good care of yourself, and when you give birth to the child, we will set a good date for the wedding.”

Qin Man was stunned for a moment; her hand trembled slightly, “Marriage? Really? You want this child?”

Rui Yichen looked at Qin Man seriously, “Of course, we will spend our lives together.”

Qin Man took a deep breath, trying to calm her excited mood, “Yichen… I…”

Rui Yichen looked at the expression on her face and said with difficulty, “But I have to tell you something; don’t get too excited. Right now, everything is within a controllable range.”

She looked up at Rui Yichen, seeing his solemn expression, “Tell me.” But at this moment, her heart was filled with joy, and her eyes also carried a hint of tenderness.

He squeezed her hand, “Listen to me calmly first.” Rui Yichen knew that this news would undoubtedly be a bolt from the blue for Qin Man. He had also thought about hiding it, but he knew that Qin Man would call Thailand, and he could hide it for a while, but not forever.

“Your parents had a car accident and are now in the hospital’s intensive care unit. But currently, their lives are not in danger, they are just still in rescue…”

Qin Man’s pupils shrank suddenly, and her face instantly turned pale.

She looked at Rui Yichen in disbelief, as if time had frozen. She slumped back onto the bed, her eyes wide, her gaze scattered, and tears gradually filled her bloodshot eyes.

After a long while, she found her voice, “What… what did you say happened to my parents?” Her voice was low and hoarse, with a faint despair.

“They had a car accident and are still in a coma. But they are out of danger,” Rui Yichen tried to keep his voice calm, so as not to stimulate Qin Man further.

Her tears began to gush out, and drops of tears rolled down her pale cheeks. Qin Man struggled to sit up, her emotions becoming agitated, “I want to see them, I want to go now! Rui Yichen!” She tightly grabbed Rui Yichen’s arm with her hand, using all her strength.

“Don’t worry, for the sake of the child, calm down first. I have already arranged for the best doctors and nurses. What you need now is to take care of yourself first. I won’t let anything happen to them.” Rui Yichen hurriedly pressed down on Qin Man, trying to stabilize her emotions.

Qin Man’s tears couldn’t stop flowing, her voice choked, and she beat Rui Yichen’s chest hard, saying somewhat hoarsely, “It’s me, it’s all me. If it weren’t for me, they wouldn’t have had the accident!”

Qin Man’s hoarse voice was full of pain. Rui Yichen could only silently restrain Qin Man, letting her tears flow freely in his arms, and enduring her beatings and accusations.

The huge stimulus suddenly made Qin Man feel dizzy, and everything in front of her seemed to become blurred. Her consciousness gradually faded, and she fainted from heartache.

Rui Yichen frowned and called out Qin Man’s name. Shen Chen, hearing the commotion inside, also pushed open the door and came in, “Quick, call a doctor!” Rui Yichen shouted.

Shen Chen ran to the nursing station without delay, and they quickly rushed to the ward to stabilize Qin Man’s vital signs.

Outside the ward, Rui Yichen stood silently in the corridor outside the ward. He knew a thing or two about Qin Man’s physical condition. Pregnancy, coupled with the huge blow she had received this time, would bring her body and spirit to the brink of collapse.

“I’ve already taken care of things at the emergency room; there’s a very good chance they’ll be saved.” Shen Chen knew that he was in a heavy mood.

Rui Yichen spoke after a long time, “No matter what method you use, this child must be kept.” His eyes sharpened, carrying the unangered authority of a superior. Shen Chen couldn’t help but feel a chill, “I understand. I will focus on the hospital recently.”
